It Doesn't Always Have to Cost A Lot

Some of the websites and suppliers out there sell amazing kit for supporting children with SEND. We often go to education shows such as TES and BETT in London and speak with them to find out about their latest innovations. This certainly has a place when you are doing long term planning for your school or settings SEN need and thinking about financial planning over time. Yet, in the short term there are many shops and websites that we both use regularly to get equipment and resources to support the teaching that we do, and we want to share those with you.
Cheapdisabilityaids.co.uk- this is great for buying small sensory light up toys, timers and balls.
Tiger- this shop really is brilliant, you never quite know what you will find, but if you do Attention Autism then you will always find something engaging to put in your bucket.
Pound Shops- we know the items that you buy from these shops are not robust, or designed to last a long time, but things like dusting gloves and plastic boxes for workstations are typical things that we put in our baskets.

Charity Shops- For young children who are at the start of their communication development, they need plenty of cause and effect toys. If you buy them from GLS, TTS or Argos the prices start at around £20. Get chatty with your local charity shops and tell them why you are buying the toys, they often keep some back for us and usually cost only a few pounds. (Remember to give them a good clean!)
