Our Year 2 classes are studying the book Drum Dream Girl as their focus for English. One of the children in the class has speech and language therapy targets and is working at P Scales. The targets are around creating 3-key word sentences.
I have created a super quick set of visual symbols to support the child, and wanted to share them with you.
The orange symbols are for the person. The yellow symbols are the the verb. The green symbols are for the noun.
All you need is to print them out, read the story (or watch one of the many you tube versions) and provide the child with a sentence strip so that they can re-tell the story. Great for comprehension, sentence construction and expanding language.
