Mathematical Movement Breaks

An objective in maths when working below the National Curriculum (P Scales) is Pupils make sets that have the same small number. One way to approach this is to show the child a number and ask them to find you the amount of an item such as compare bears, biscuits or pens.

In order to increase the movement that a child with SEN is getting in the day, and to practice number away from the table, I like to do counting movement breaks.

I have linked a pdf to the resource here, just print this out, find two pocket dice and off you go. You can do this as an individual or as a group and different people can roll the dice. You can make it harder by adding sums instead or word problems. I love pocket dice, they can be used for so many lessons!
