Spectacular Skeletal Ideas for Halloween

Been looking for an attention grabbing idea to support learning about teeth, bones and the body? This is a great topic to explore alongside Halloween as you can use skeletons for both -  check out our idea for an attention autism stage 2 idea here This is a great activity to link to Halloween but also if you are teaching KS1 children about the skeleton, teeth and bones this will help engage their attention at the start of a lesson.

And for another adaptation follow the below activity:

Resources:
Shower curtain
Black paper
PVA glue
White glitter
Funny bones book/music

Activity:
Lay out the shower curtain on the floor.
Place the black paper on the shower curtain.
Use the glue to draw out a skeleton, naming each part of the body as you go or singing the funny bones song e.g. the knee bone’s connected to the leg bone etc
Shake the white glitter over the whole skeleton.
Shake the glitter off to reveal your funny bone’s skeleton!!

Adding movement to your lesson is a great way to engage those learners who need some help getting their energy up for learning or for those learners who need to burn some energy before sitting and listening! This great simple skeleton song  will get your class moving around whilst keeping on theme for Halloween or learning about the body.
