Main
·
Place the
dice in the centre of the group.
·
Ask a
child to roll the dice. What weather is it showing?
·
Ask for a
volunteer to be dressed up, they stand in the middle of the group.
·
Ask the
group ‘what do they need to wear?’ when the children respond ask them ‘why?’
this should lead on to them starting with ‘because’ and if they don’t then the
adults can model this.
·
Once it is
established what type of clothes and why, then someone comes and dresses the
volunteer up with the appropriate clothing.
·
Another
child then takes a turn at rolling the dice and the activity repeats.
Plenary
Ask all the children

Consolidation Activities
When talking to the children, if they make
a comment, begin modeling the ‘why/because’ question and response phrases so
